Possibly the hottest topic in Lake Nona for the last 5 years has been talks about the large retail area coming to the area, and it looks like it might finally become a reality.
We’ve had a few shops and restaurants opening in the area, but to get to any large retail stores, we need to head to Waterford Lakes or the Florida Mall. With the new retail plans, all of that will change.
Tavistock Development Co. LLC is seeking a permit from the South Florida Water Management District to begin master infrastructure construction for the planned 52.5-acre Lake Nona Landing shopping complex on the west side of Narcoossee Road south of State Road 417.
The development proposed 467,369-square-foot shopping center would feature two big box retailers plus additional shops, restaurants, a gas station and office space, according to city of Orlando documents. The city’s Southeast Town Design Review Committee last July approved Tavistock Development’s plans for this site, known as parcels E and F in the Education Village planned development.
We’ll add more info as things roll out. This is exciting news
